On March 27, the Addison Economic Development team, joined by Councilmembers Nancy Craig and Darren Gardner, had the pleasure of visiting Surf Air Mobility, the latest addition to Addison’s business community. Relocating its Air Operations Center from Hawthorne, California, Surf Air Mobility has chosen Addison Airport as its new base of operations.

Surf Air Mobility is a leading regional air mobility platform, recognized as one of the largest commuter airlines in the U.S. by scheduled departures and the largest passenger operator of Cessna Caravans in the nation. The company is at the forefront of developing proprietary electric and hybrid-electric powertrain technology for the Cessna Grand Caravan EX, aiming for FAA certification in 2026. This initiative is part of Surf Air's broader mission to decarbonize regional air travel and enhance operational efficiency.

CEO Deanna White cited Addison's central location, proximity to major airports like Love Field and DFW, and access to a skilled workforce as key factors in the relocation decision. The move aligns with Surf Air's strategic plan to streamline operations and expand its innovative services.

Addison is proud to welcome Surf Air Mobility and looks forward to supporting its growth and contributions to the future of sustainable aviation.
